I have been interested in photography all my life, I started at an early age but my first camera was my Dad’s Exata RTL 1000 with a Zeiss 50mm lens. To say this was difficult to use was an understatement. My initial results were experimental to say the least.
For my 18th Birthday, I bought a Chinon CE4 (mainly because my friend was working in Dixons and got me a discount) and that is where the adventure really started.
From here I quickly progressed to the thrill of Black and White processing and Cibachrome. My cameras have changed over the years until now were I have landed on the Sony A7r3, wow how things have changed since my Chinon.
My main passion is Landscape photography and the thrill of being out in nature. I never tire of an early morning sunrise and expectant wait of what the dawn will bring. The connection of photography with nature is quite profound for me and drives me to continually improve my imagery.
My photographic philosophy is enshrined in the famous Ansel Adams Quote
“Ask yourself: “Does this subject move me to feel, think and dream?”
